SmartCards Study is designed for personal learning. The app does not use advertising tracking and does not sell personal data.

Flashcards and Decks

Questions, answers, decks, review progress, and deck language settings are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the app, this data may sync through your Apple iCloud account.

AI Features

AI features are optional. Before the app sends any study text to an AI service for the first time, the app asks for your permission in the app.

If you choose to use AI-generated cards, the app sends the topic you enter, the target deck name, language settings, requested card count, and App Store purchase proof to our Supabase backend. The study text is then sent to OpenAI to generate flashcards.

If you choose an AI answer helper, the app sends the selected question, answer, language setting, selected helper action, and App Store purchase proof to our Supabase backend. The study text is then sent to OpenAI to generate the requested explanation, example, memory aid, mini quiz, child-friendly explanation, or exam-style answer.

Do not enter sensitive personal information into AI prompts, flashcards, questions, or answers.

Subscriptions and Purchase Verification

AI features require an optional monthly subscription. The app uses Apple StoreKit and sends purchase verification information to our backend so that the subscription can be checked with Apple. We use this only to unlock subscription features.

How We Use Data

We use app data only to provide app functionality: saving and syncing your flashcards, generating optional AI study content when you request it, verifying your AI subscription, and responding to support requests.

Support Requests

If you contact support by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address and the content of your request.

Data Sharing

We use service providers only to operate the app: Apple for App Store purchases and iCloud sync, Supabase for backend processing, and OpenAI for AI-generated study content. These providers process data only to provide the requested app functionality and are expected to provide the same or equal protection for the data they process for us.

Tracking

The app does not use third-party advertising tracking and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
